Hours of Gaming Each Day
Gamers are often bashed about “not having a life”, and just generally being lazy. I went out to talk to some average gamers to see if these comments are justified. Just how long to people play games for?
After I surveyed numerous people I discovered that many gamers play games daily for over 6 hours. I am an avid gamer, and do enjoy all the technical junk, but even for me 6 hours seems like a little too much. Some unaltered comments are below:
“At least 6-8 every day.”
“During the weekday, or workdays, little or no gaming, but when I'm off, let the pwnage begin.”
“I try to squeeze in at least 1 hour but on the weekends when I don't have anything going on then I put in at least 6-8 hours.”
“Well because I have 3 jobs, i try to play AT LEAST 3 hours a day. On my days off I'd say about a good 12 hours all day, take breaks every 2 hours or so especially if I’m playing a RPG. Currently I'm playing ‘Legend of Mana’.”
“4-6 a day, stupid work. 12+/day on weekends.”
“I only play on Friday through Sunday, that’s about 3-4 hours a day on the weekends.”
“It depends if I have nothing to do. If i have nothing to do i play around 10+ hours a day, but if I have work then it's only around 3-4 hours a day.”
“Each day? Well, 2-3+ on the weekdays and anywhere from 0-10 on weekends. Depends what is going on and what I'm playing. Just got Grim Fandango off eBay today and it is awesome so I played quite a bit today. Been playing Ico on PS2 but I keep getting stuck.”
While I cannot control what gamers do, I still only recommend no more than an average of 2 hours gaming each day, otherwise it’s just too much. So, get out and play a sport (preferably a good one, like skateboarding).
